The 27′ AmeraCat is our inshore and nearshore boat. It fishes the flats around Crystal River, runs bottom-fishing trips 15 to 40 miles out, and is fully equipped for trips up to 50 miles into the Gulf. It’s a catamaran with a big dive ladder, which is why it doubles as our scalloping boat in season.
This is the boat we recommend for kids, families, first-time anglers and seniors. Half-day and full-day options let you pick the length that suits your group. Tackle, bait, ice, water and fish cleaning are included, and our FWC charter license covers everyone on board, scallops included, so nobody needs their own license.
The whole Inshore & Nearshore menu runs on this boat: the Inshore Half Day and Full Day, the 15–20 Mile Bottom Fishing half day, the Inshore & Offshore Combo, and the 30 and 40 Mile Max trips. Two seasonal trips run on it too: the Inshore Gag Grouper trip (gag dates are set each year by NOAA and FWC) and the Sheepshead Full Day, usually late winter into early spring (call for current dates).
It also runs the morning, afternoon and full-day Scalloping trips and the Fishing & Scalloping Combo when scallop season is open. One of us is a certified rescue diver, which matters when there are snorkelers in the water. If your group wants a private bathroom on board, the same trips run on the 35′ as the Luxury tier.
